Traikovsky Rakija Grape Brandy

Traikovsky Grape Brandy is a traditional Macedonian grape-based rakija from the Traikovsky Wines & Spirits distillery in the Tikveš region, distilled twice in copper stills from a blend of six grape varieties and matured for approximately three years in local Kićevo “blagunj” oak barrels.  Bottled at 40% ABV, it opens with rich aromas of oak, honey and cinnamon, with hints of vanilla and coffee, then delivers a smooth palate of sweet oak, honey and almonds with fleeting fruit notes of peach and plum, followed by a long, lingering finish.  Best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass as an aperitif or digestif, to fully appreciate its layered distillate character.
