Maraska Slivovitz 10 Year Brandy

Crafted by Maraska in Zadar, Croatia — a house founded back in 1945 and rooted in a long regional tradition of fruit-based spirits. This 10-year-old plum brandy begins with ripe blue plums grown along the Adriatic coast, double-distilled and then matured for a full decade in 500-litre wooden barrels.  On the nose you'll find ripe plum fruit, almond and soft oak vanilla notes. Typical tasting notes include smooth, rounded palate with dried fruit, honey and toasted oak interplay and a long, warming finish with subtle spice. In terms of character it offers more finesse than many younger slivovitz expressions — though some reviewers have noted it retains a bit of rustic, floral or astringent edge.  It works beautifully as a contemplative sip-after-dinner or as a standout gift for lovers of Eastern European fruit brandies.
