Knob Creek Twice Barreled Rye is a distinctive, bold rye whiskey that undergoes a unique double-barrel aging process, resulting in an exceptionally smooth and richly flavored spirit. Produced by the Knob Creek distillery, part of the Jim Beam family in Clermont, Kentucky, this rye whiskey is initially aged in traditional charred oak barrels before being transferred to a second, custom-made barrel to further enhance its depth and complexity. This extra aging process adds layers of rich flavor and a smoothness that sets it apart from typical rye whiskeys.
Type: Straight Rye Whiskey (Twice Barreled)
ABV: 50% (100 proof)
Origin: Clermont, Kentucky, USA
Tasting Notes: The nose is aromatic and inviting, with bold notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasty oak, paired with the classic rye spice of black pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and complex, with flavors of honey, rich toffee, and dark fruit, complemented by the rye’s signature peppery heat and a hint of clove. The twice-barreled aging process adds depth, imparting a smooth, slightly smoky character alongside the rye’s natural spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of caramel, baking spices, and a touch of oak, making it ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails like a Rye Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
